MEET OUR STORYTELLERS
Our storytellers share personal experiences that highlight cultural similarities and differences, offering insight into both traditional and modern ways of life across different regions. The focus is on cultural understanding, language use, and everyday living rather than country-to-country comparisons.
JOE LUCERO
Joe was born in the United States and began learning Mandarin while attending the University of Colorado. Growing up in a Taiwanese-American household, he understands the challenges of adapting to new cultural environments and learning Mandarin as a second language.
Now based in Taichung, Taiwan, Joe loves sharing his real, everyday experiences and helping learners connect language with life on the ground.
JOANNA YANG
Joanna is originally from Chongqing and currently lives in Shenzhen, a modern high-tech city known for innovation and rapid development. She previously studied and lived in the United States and has a bilingual, bicultural educational background.
Joanna brings learners into daily life through food, local culture, and conversations about how technology and modernization shape communities today while sharing her passion for spicy cuisine along the way.
